Because everyone responds in different ways to what they read, there are some people who do respond better to blunt talk. It may not be the OP, but someone who comes after and reads the thread. If blunt talk catches soneones attention and keeps them from doing something I'll advised or gets them to seek medical attention for their dog rather than perusing an Internet forum then it HAS done good.
Personally, I prefer blunt talk to snide swipes and encouraging irresponsible behavior.
