THAT is what I find sad. I understand that just like I have a preference, some have a preference to have a smaller dog and that is totally fine. I have no issue with a smaller dog... Jackson's best friends are 4lb and 6lb yorkies and they are treated just as Jackson is and get to do all sorts of dog things. I just think the general public think that just because a dog is tiny they require no amount of exercise or are allowed to be a dog and I think that tiny dogs can be dangerous in the hands of people who don't know what they are doing -that's what scares ME about the tinies! Not everyone who gets them are as good Yorkie parents as us here on YT! |
(I chopped your post :P it was longggggg)
This really bothers me too. A huge reason being my Lula-mae is 3 pounds. We have taken multiple training classes, she is one test away from being a certified therapy dog and is very well behaved. She only eats dog food (ok maybe a bit of cheese here and there) because she is my DOG (you have no idea how many hands with people food I have slapped).
Almost everytime I carry my dog while walking on a busy sidewalk I get dirty looks... I want to scream...DUDE SHE IS 3 POUNDS! SHE WILL GET STEPPED ON!
It is the people mentioned above that cause those dirty looks I get.
Lula is perfect. She is a happy, healthy, well behaved dog. I put in a lot of effort while she was a puppy to ensure that. I expected her to be bigger but I wouldnt change one thing about her.
I need to constantly be on the defence. It can be quite exausting.
