I too have begun my breeding program with quality Biewers and have been putting them in the show ring to prove this. I have done very well and have placed mine with their International and National Championships twice with two of these titles at different age groups. So, therefore I think I too have TRUE Biewer Yorkshires. I have never denied that they are a breed of their own. I except that and I am very proud to represent that. But as I stated before and will hold strong to my convictions on this... They ALL came from one set of parents and that was of two yorkies... Blue and Gold master parents Darling of Friedheck and Fru Fru of Freidheck the mating of these two Yorkies produced the white, blue and gold yorkie... Selective breeding by the founder Mr Biewer in mutating the recessive pie-bald gene he developed the coloring we follow for this breed. BUT this was developed from a yorkie!!! It was just the genetic breeding of the pie bald carriers...So it is still a Yorkie. No evidence has been proven any other breed in the making of a Biewer standard so why all the sudden do we deny its hertiage.
All our Biewers have come from inline breeding and you are kidding yourself if you believe differently... When you start from one set of parents how can you NOT inline breed to set this standard... As more lines where introduced it was with the blues and golds... Otherwise HOW can there be so many lines already... I have five different lines myself.hummmm..... This is not rocket science here use common knowledge it is not hard to figure out.
You want to take out the Yorkshire fine go ahead and then you ARE NOT STAYING in the STANDARD... I have taken the liberty to attached the standard for this breed and it clearly states in the standard they are called Biewer Yorkshire a la Pom-Pon. Every German website I have looked at call them by their standard name ~~ Biewer Yorkshire. So why is this so hard to except.. it doesn't mean that they are not a breed of their own. Then I have to ask if they are not a Yorkie WHY is THEIR STANDARD that of a YORKIE with the exception of the color patterns and no alteration of the tail.(due to the fact it is part of their standard and German Law.)
I have had the privledge of my first Biewer litter which this breeding was Biewer Yorkshire to Biewer Yorkshire. Since, I have spent thousands to start my breeding program and see no reason to regress in my breeding program and I have no desires to put a recessive blue/ gold together either. Although this practice is still being done in Germany in their breeding programs. It was done in Mr. Biewers as well. On his runway of dogs that is on the net... It is not filled with JUST Biewer yorkshires but with yorkshires as well. My last thought I leave with you is if Mr. Biewer DID NOT want them to be known as Yorkshires I think he would have just called them Biewers.... |
