I agree.. I don't think standards are a joke.. but they have changed over time so why do some of the breeders fight all change.. idk Maybe I will understand when and IF I become a breeder.

I said small yorkies (like the 3 or 4 lbs who are breed correctly without health issues... not the teeny tiny ones.

What is YTCA???

I get all cheesed off with this site being treated like YTCA Talk and not Yorkie Talk ...okay I'll shush myself now.......promise (where's the smiley with hands over mouth or a zipper mouth-?)

Great Points
But the reality of it is there is a vast amount of knowledge, sharing , and generally really fun stuff on here that...you just have to realize at some point you will tick off ppl or they will tick you off too...I apologize in advance to the next person for the next thing I do to tick them off...

When it comes to health issues, sometimes people need to be blunt and direct. People should not rely on a public forum instead of going to their vet for health issues. I realize sometimes people can't afford vet care, but sometimes people do not take issues seriously or try and hold back on the expense and this is when emotions start to rise.
As far as breeding. This is a site dedicated to a breed we all love. So I seriously doubt it will ever change. When people come on here that are participating in questionable breeding, buying from questionable breeders or supporting them, that is always going to cause a lot of emotions.
As someone else pointed out. There are plenty of other sites and methods to learn about breeding, health issues, etc.. Anytime you come on a public forum you have to expect a broad spectrum of opinions and emotions.
People are not going to condone situations that jeopardize the health and well being of Yorkies.

I was thinking that just after I made my last post... I have wondered into the breeder area and I just get so lost.. I do think the passions are higher ..but they should be if it is a good breader!!!!

I am sorry, you are responsible for your dog. Period end of story. Whether you meant for the pregnancy to happen or not, the very SECOND you found out your girl was preggers you should have been talking to a vet experienced with pregnancy, scouring books/information, finding a mentor, etc. If you don't know what you are doing with this sort of thing, you IMMEDIATELY begin educating yourself and getting help. It is common sense, you are responsible for the safety of those little lives!

I also agree... I don't understand someone who would breed without research and help... period!!! If not just for the quality of the puppy for the health of the dam!!!!!! Why are you wanting help now?

You shouldn't be here the day of asking what you are supposed to be doing. You should know the signs of labor, the supplies you need, what you should be feeding mom, etc. These things are NOT hard to find if you look.
Heck, I have no intention of breeding or interest in it, but even I know these things from just reading!

If I was in such a situation, you can bet your bum I would have found it as soon as possible. It isn't like your dog hasn't been preggers for WEEKS, you had plenty of time to prepare yourself. If you didn't then you deserve all the criticism you get and then some. You are irresponsible and endangering the lives of your pups.

Again... I love this site... it has made me a better dog mommy!!!!!! And I thank all of you who have given me advice... I do think we all are abrupt at times.. but such is life.
If a member leaves because their hand is not patted and someone tells them it is ok you did not take your dog to a vet, or you 6 month old is having a litter, or...... then they really did not want advice they wanted confermation that they did not do wrong!!
