I know the breeding threads tend to get heated around here and IMO they should. Who waits until the ACTUAL due date to begin doing any kind of learning?
I am sorry, you are responsible for your dog. Period end of story. Whether you meant for the pregnancy to happen or not, the very SECOND you found out your girl was preggers you should have been talking to a vet experienced with pregnancy, scouring books/information, finding a mentor, etc. If you don't know what you are doing with this sort of thing, you IMMEDIATELY begin educating yourself and getting help. It is common sense, you are responsible for the safety of those little lives!
You shouldn't be here the day of asking what you are supposed to be doing. You should know the signs of labor, the supplies you need, what you should be feeding mom, etc. These things are NOT hard to find if you look.
Heck, I have no intention of breeding or interest in it, but even I know these things from just reading!
If I was in such a situation, you can bet your bum I would have found it as soon as possible. It isn't like your dog hasn't been preggers for WEEKS, you had plenty of time to prepare yourself. If you didn't then you deserve all the criticism you get and then some. You are irresponsible and endangering the lives of your pups. |
