it's great that you've not experienced problems in your breeding program thus far and have never lost a yorkie with your vast years of experience. but the original poster that we're talking about sounds like a total novice and, i would venture to guess, does not have the expertise of breeding tinies as the experience that you've gathered in the past 20 years. and i think the common consensus is, if you don't know what you're doing, why risk the life of your little girl? even if the risk of delivery complications are a thousand to one, and the odds are in your favor, just suppose you're that ONE in a thousand winner with the complications? i personally wouldn't want to risk it no matter the odds if i had a little girl. i would do everything in my power to maximize the odds in my favor and if spaying her right away is best then so be it. but then i totally minimized my risks by getting a little boy. whom i'm having neutered as soon as we finish the last round of vaccinations.
