Hi, The proper pronunciation is Beaver. Just like the little creatures that build dams. My Husband is German and all his family still live in Germany. There is no "W" sound in their language. It takes on the sound of a "V". Hope this helps you. It was very helpful when I started to get into the Biewer Yorkies. My family visited many kennels when looking for a breeder for us to deal with.
