Default Biewer name

I am a little surprised to see the problem arising over the name of the "Biewer Yorkshire Terrier". The Biewer is a Yorkshire Terrier. It has been developed into a breed of it's own, but that does not exclude the fact that it is a Yorkie. It was not developed from Shepard's or Poodle's. The standard for the Biewer Yorkie is very simple-That of a Yorkshire Terrier except for the coloring. If you want to be really technical, for those of you that have Yorkies, if the back is not a dark steel blue, the Yorkie is not of the standard but it's still a Yorkie and just as beautiful. This is a young breed and it is going to take dedicated ethical breeders to perfect this doggie.
Are these dogs Schnauzers? They are not just called Miniatures, or Standards, or Giants.
Miniature Schnauzer - Standard Schnauzer - Giant Schnauzer.
If you look closely at the pedigrees of the Biewer Yorkies you will usually find a standard Yorkie in the blood line. When there is to much of the same blood lines being used, otherwise know as line breeding, then the breeding of Biewer Yorkie to Biewer Yorkie start to produce dog's with more white than any other color. This is not because it is a mix, it is do to poor breeding. The Biewer Yorkie is suppose to be 5 to 7 lbs. A lot of the Biewer's are getting up to 15 lbs. Not good. With a good breeding program, and time, we should be able to breed Biewer Yorkies to standard every time.
To address a statement made by YorkieRini. She says "That's why I HATE to see folks buying Biewers from brokers let a lone for breeding." I am with you on the buying from brokers, but didn't you buy Biewer's with the intent to breed?
