A carbooty is a car boot sale. The trunk of a car is the boot in England.
People get together and have a car boot sale - selling things out of the trunk of the car - sort of like our garage sales.
(I remember after I had been in the USA about a year my parents came to visit, and one day I mentioned to my mother that there was a garage sale down the street and would she like to go. She looked at me like I was crazy and asked me why would I want to buy a garage)
