Has Wookie had a recent wellness exam with the vet? I would rule out health problems first.

Moving around and changes in lifestyle can affect a dog's behavior. How much time was he spending in the crate before the potty problems started? Is it just overnight that he is having trouble with? How is he during the day when he is out of his crate?

Yorkies should not be kept in the garage for health and psychological reasons. They are very sensitive to heat and cold and they need plenty of human companionship. Instead, choose a small room with an easy to clean floor and limit his freedom to that area until his potty habits improve. Or put him in an xpen with a potty pad when you cannot supervise him closely.

Hope some of this helps.
