Adult Forgets Potty Training? Ok, so Wookie was just about 100% potty trained at our first apartment where he grew up. He learned really fast and rarely had accidents by the time he was 10 or 11 months old. I trusted him to the point where I would leave him out during the day. He was also crate trained. In October we moved out and had to stay with the in-laws for 3 months before making the big move back to NY. Due to family allergies he wasn't allowed in the house, but he still remained faithfully crate trained.
Now that we have moved to NY he has made a complete 180. He poops and pees in his crate every single day. He no longer holds it where before he could hold it over night. I started him off back to square 1 expecting him to take some adjustment time. We take him out every hour and regulate his food and water intake. He sleeps and eats in his crate. He even started peeing in his bed. It's like now he only pees where he sleeps. The weird thing is that he doesn't pee on the floor!
I wake up every morning to pee in his crate and I don't know what to do. I tried getting a belly band to discourage him from it, but he wets it every day. I know this has been a big change for him, but I'm at a loss for what to do. If his behavior doesn't improve, he'll have to stay in the garage with pee pads but I really don't want it to have to get to that point. Any suggestions? |
