#1 maybe Breny wasn't aware you were ready to make a commitment. Sometimes breeders have lots of people who call and talk but just never make it to the "sticking point" of adopting a puppy.
#2 a lot of breeders will take a deposit on a puppy to hold the puppy for you but only if they know for sure you will be a great home and that you are ready to make a commitment. Maybe Breny wasn't sure you were ready? and
#3 sometimes breeders don't tell you that you need to leave a deposit because they don't want to seem "pushy". I've heard people complain about breeders telling them that other people were interested in the same puppy and they thought it was a selling tactic trying to make them buy the puppy first. I believe she has a statement on her website telling people that she does not hold a puppy for anyone without a deposit and her puppy application must be filled out. If this wasn't the case when you were speaking for her it appears she has made changes so this misunderstanding doesn't happen again.
Again, I'm sorry you were disappointed in your dealings with Breny. I've always had the highest opinion of her and would not hesitate to adopt a dog from her if I was looking for another puppy. I'm very glad you found the Yorkie puppy you were looking for.

This is so true Teresa. Maybe Breny had two or three people interested in the same puppy...and went with the home she thought would be a better placement for that particular puppy before accepting a deposit on him? Just looking at it from a breeders perspective.
