I don't let my dogs sleep with me (okay they do sneak now) we kennel now we can leave kennel doors open and they go in their bed on their own...the kennels are right next to our bed like night stands and for my dog that cannot go in the kennel-it is a cage to him he has a bed under my bed...I can always see and hear them....always...some I have noticed do better in a play yard instead of a kennel...always keep a pup with you for behavioral, safety and training groundwork-a blanket over the kennel can help...
