I think because animals produce young in the wild all time, people think there's nothing to get excited about. People don't realize that when man domesticates an animal, man does have to stay involved in the breeding and whelping process. A large percentage of the time, there is no problem, and many inexperienced breeders tell newbie breeders, "Don't worry, it's a breeze". You have to know the warning signs, and act quickly. I'm not sure what type of advice the OP is getting through PM's or other forums.
