I have a 4 year old Westie and Lucy - who will be two in August. The male/female combination works well for us ~ though we still had challenges in the beginning.

Ringo was a little put-out at first - but we made sure to give him LOTS of extra love, attention, and exercise and that helped.

Your boy will have to learn to share your time and affection and that can take some getting used to.
