I have a (spare) set of Leashes set up in my vehicle (one for each dog).
I use Harness all the time, and when they are in the Truck, the Leash for
each of them is permanently attached down through the bottom of the
back and seat, and tied where they can't be thrown forward on an
emergency stop. It lets them move around a little, to a window to look
out, lay or sit, but not a lot more.
