The best "non poison" flea prevention I've ever used is table salt. Scatter it dry into carpets and let it sit overnight. Then vaccum it away. It does not stain or smell. I rented a house a few years ago that had fleas BAD. You could feel them run across your feet while watching TV. I sprinkled salt and in 2-3 days they were gone. I think the salt dries their little bodies. I never use poison of any kind in my home because of my furbabies. Hope this helps. Deni
