Just got off the phone with the specialist, and it isn't good.
She is sleeping comfortably with pain medicine. The stricture they were going to attack wasn't the case. They said she has developed secondary megacolon from severe constipation and straining.
They are going to let her come home to me tomorrow with prednisone, low residue wet puppy food by iams, and luctolose and pain medicine. if the switch in diet doesn't work, surgery will be in order and we will have to figure out how much surgery will cost and finance it into our tight budget. the surgery is called sub total colectomy. they would remove the infected part of her colon. so sad..... so very, very sad.... i know it's not my fault, but I wish I could reverse it. i am soooo soooo sad.......
