My Binky did so many funny things in her lifetime this is one I will never forget.
The stolen mini oreos.
My husband was very ill at the time and everyone knew his passion for sweets would make donations when they visited trying to get some weight on him.
We took these little containers of oreos,crackers,cookies or graham crackers with us to the clinic most of the time and kept them all neatly organized on a shelf in the family room.
I was busy with my mother in law who was visiting putting together more of those closet maid units to help reduce the cluttered look since my husband was too ill to go upstairs anymore and the things he needed amounted to many.
He was watching us fuss and organized and after a bit I asked him if he'd like coffee.
He said sure and Binky stole my cookies...I said "when" he said "oh about half an hour ago"
I asked why didn't you say anything and he just shrudded his shoulders since miss binky could never do anything wrong ever!
Sure enough I look under the hospital bed and she had popped open the lid and ate what was left in that container.
So mama has to be the heavy again and I told her "Binky come to mommy" you broke poor daddy's heart stealing his cookies like that now he's going to cry.
He never steals your cookies does he?
She looks at me for a few minutes goes away and the little booger comes back with a full container of mini oreos and puts them in my lap.
My hubby said "see mommy don't have a cow there's more"
He always gave binky a voice and with so many people here laughing it was a priceless moment.
To this day I can't figure out how she knew which container to pick since they all have freshness seals. |
