Welcome to YT. What an exciting time it is when a new family member joins in. Since dogs are social pack animals, just let your family know your ALL his caretakers AND his pack. This way no one is left out and no one is an exclusive owner.
Maybe you will get more help when all the newness wears off and no one can say "he isn't mine" when ask to scoop, brush, walk or bathe.
