Tough question, given that one would want it/them to look good,
but not cost an arm/leg.

The simplest thing I can come up with, is what is called Hardware Cloth.
This is a "heavier" wire Screen, and I'm thinking the 1/2" spacing may do.

It comes in various widths (24/36/48") buy as many linear feet as needed in a roll, and cut pieces out to fit your windows. Just setting them on the
inside of your existing screens will probably work, but, you could come up with some attachment to your Screens if you want. I'm thinking a small
screws and washers, in four places to hold it in place.

One final treatment would be to spray the Inserts a Flat Black.
That would make them very hard to see behind your existing
screens from the outside.
