I did call the vet and they didn't think it was necessary to come in. They said bruising is normal.
*Also, they did not have an e collar on him because they said he wasn't licking. When we got home, he started to lick and I know he did it at the vet as well, they must have just walked in and out briefly because I warned them that he normally licks himself. Yes it does look a bit irritated. You must figure out a way to keep him from licking the area. Do you have a belly band ? if not I know that Petsmart & Petco both sell E collars.
