There are 2 different genes involved in the golden yorkie's color. One gene causes the gold yorkie to have black hairs mixed in their coat (sables) and one gene cause goldens to be born with out any black hairs. The exception being if a sable has two sable genes (one sable gene from mom and 1 from dad), they may have minimal black hairs in their coat.
