It's clear so you can still see out of it and it is easy to open and can be moved easily as well.
I have this gate except mine isn't clear as they didn't have that option when I bought it years ago. I really love it. It is so easy to use, it locks and you can pressure mount it or mount it to the wall for something more permanent. I don't know if Uni is a climber if so you might want to take that into consideration. They can't climb though with this gate.
