Omg Jett's coughing

My baby is coughing. He has been 'coughing clearing his throat a couple of times a day since I got him.' Nothing serious at all. Well today he is coughing more, its the same cough lasts about 5 seconds, sound like he is clearing his throat, cough does sound productive. He has done this maybe 15 times today. Does not sound like a trachea collapse cough at all. (Watched videos via u tube on this)

I told the vet about it when I brought him in, and he checked his lungs, throat and trachea very thoroughly and all sounded and looked good to him. He said to keep an eye on him. He gave him a clean bill of health and said he was extremely healthy.

I am thinking possibly kennel cough. He is eating and drinking great, has gained 1/2 an ounce since wed, playing like crazy, and sleeping very well too! He also has no fever, no runny nose, no runny eyes. Can kennel cough give a dog a slight cough?? The cough that he is coughing sounds a little like kennel cough, just not nearly as severe. I have never had experience with this before. Just thought I'd ask the experienced ones on here.

Am I safe in just keeping him home, warm and well fed?? If anything changes take him back to the vet?? I know most vets don't medicate for this......What do you all think??
