I do not know anything about the injections themselves although I know mine have gotten an injection for pain prior to going home.. so that is probably what it is. I think because your puppy is so tiny that I might be inclined to take their advice about having the vet perform the spay at the same time as the dental. It may cost more, but I would be more concerned about the vet having the proper equipment there in case there IS a problem and also about putting her under the anesthetic two times. I would also recommend that pre-OP bloodwork be done prior to either surgery. I think it is extremely important because the results could tell if there is likely to be a problem (although, it doesn't often happen, sometimes there could be a problem even if the bloodwork is good). |
