My Princess Chloe (2lbs 14oz-5mths,3wks,6days old) will be getting spayed on 2/28 at our SPCA free now in the month of Feb.
They use Isoflurane gas anesthetic throughout the surgery I'm informed. They informed me that they inject the dog prior to being discharged with Rimadyl and Hydormorphine (Opioy), I hope I spelled that right!
My question is the discharge injections safe, has anyone heard of these shots?
At the same time, Princess was found to have a grade 2 malocclusion in the manible lower jaw . I have an appointment with a veterinary dentist Tues. 2/8. The tooth is just starting to come out, and she still has a few baby teeth. My SPCA vet. suggested that if there has to be any extractions I should have them perform the spaying as well.
I will have more info I guess on Tuesday when I see the vet. dentist. In the meantime, I would like to know if any has heard anything about the injections.
Thank you all so much,
Naomi- Princess Chloe's Mami
