The "blue" that they are referring to in the first paragraph is different than "blue born." The proper shade for an adult yorkie is called "blue" but it's more of a metallic type of black, not pure black, that you see on some breeds, and yes, these dogs are born black and tan and the black hopefully changes to this dark steel blue. It's a very difficult color to produce. Blue born on the other hand, is a condition where, the puppies are born grey looking, and those that live can experience skin problems and hair usually is sparse.
