I don't think I've ever done the alph roll at least not correctly. I did try the grabbing the scruff of the neck and growling "no" this did seem to get his attention when he was around the 3 month age. logan went through a stage of jumping up and trying to bite you in the face. I'm sure it was just because he was excited but I couldn't have him doing it because it hurt. So I would just get a hold of him under the arms and hold him so he couldn't squirm away or bite me again and say no and then I would hold him til he settled and then I would tell him to kiss nice and he would and then I would praise him. Now if he gets to rough I just have to say be nice or sometimes I'll yelp ouch and that usually makes him stop, but this is after a couple months of the hold and no command. I got my Logan at 7 weeks so I've kinda had to be his mom in the way of teaching him what's okay behavior and what's not. Just be consistent and if he does something good even if it's just for a little bit praise him and give him a treat he'll soon learn.
