I am sorry for your loss but very pleased to see what you had to add to this thread that I just had to BOLD two very important preventative points to your post!
My little addition is this...if you would not allow a small child to sit in your lap while driving then why in the world would anyone take the chance with a small dog?
A pet owner should never allow even what they perceive to be the desire of their dog to sit in their lap while driving ever over rule who is in charge...it's always YOU the dog owner...not the other way around!
Please keep your pets safe as well as yourselves and the other drivers on the road!
