Update...

After many repeated attempts to contact her breeder I finally got a call back today...guess it must have been the message threatening animal control...

She told me that Abby had a severe infection while pregnant with her last litter. She got sceptis? I am confirming with the vet tomorrow when they are again open. The infection entered her bloodstream and attacked her brain. She had a seizure that put her into premature labor, killing all but one puppy. The breeder actually gave her antibiotics and even though they didn't think she would live she did. But it left her with nervous system issues. She actually told me that I had no reason to complain because she was a lot worse right after it happened and she barely noticed it now! This little dog can hardly walk straight! Even when sitting still herhead sways. I cant imagine what she was like at first!! I was told Abby couldn't walk or do much for almost 3mon! Breeder said she doesn't see how she could have gotten pregnant during that time but its pretty certain she is and it definately was before I got her!!

She is 3, almost 4yrs old and has had 4-6litters (she didn't know for sure as she doesn't keep records!). Her last litter was 6mon. ago and was the one that almost killed her. Breeder kept the one surviving pup for breeding. Sad really. But, according to the breeder, Abby is as healthy as she can be and the balance issue may be for life. I am going to confirm tomorrow with the vet that saw and still do a blood panel with my vet. It will be good to know for sure. She is turning into such a sweet little dog. She has caught hold of so many peoples heartstrings that everyone is waiting for the final word. Funny how one little misused dog can bring so many together

Thank you all for the great advice. I did get a sooner apointment with my vet aswell. You guys are great!! I don't know if I will be able to keep Abby in my home as I have two very rambunctious bigger dogs that I am afraid will hurt her on accident (because she cant catch herself of wobble out of the way when around them). But I know if I am fortunate enough to be able to provide her a home, I have a great place to learn more about this happy little breed!!
