| First Incidence of shaking with fear! Hi Everyone ~ The hubby and I were watching the newest Shrek tonight (which was great btw) and at the end there were loud trumpet sounds. They were similar to trumpet raspberries like you would do to a baby's tummy...only way I can describe it but loud. All of a sudden Teddi just wanted to cuddle in - to EITHER of us and was shaking like a leaf!! My first instinct was of course to cuddle and soothe. My concern is what is the correct behavior when he is frightened of something to that extent? He notices / watches the TV quite a bit - recognizing it is there. The first time he realized it he started barking and looking for the guy on the screen. I have been able to get him past his camera fear by introducing it slowly while I am holding it. I then will put it down and take a few steps away so he can investigate - pick up the camera again etc. He used to fear bark at the camera. He has NEVER shaken from fear before!! We have not oversitmulated, he is in puppy class, takes walks, does training and has a sitter who owns a boarding facility but takes him into her house as her own to sit for him and lets him run with her pups. She also took care of Gizzy when he was ill and we had to work. Regardless of why - I would just like to know what to do about it when it happens... He acts as though he has been abused with this sound before or something. Are we supposed to ignore and let him work it out on his own? I'm so worried... Thanks for any advice and sorry this is so long... |
