Hi and welcome to YT! It's never too late to modify behavior... the trick is finding a way that works.

I have a two year old male purebred yorkie named Bandit. We love so many things about him, but I think we have done a terrible job of training him - we think. We have had him since he was ready to leave mother. He gets so dang aggressive and protective when someone walks in the room and he is cuddled up to me or my wife. It as if there is a switch that turns on and he growls and is ready to attack, but then if he is down off the bed he wags his tail and loves them. He doesnt mind very well when we tell him to come, but I think that is a lack of training and working with him.

The aggressive behavior is the most conerning now. I hope it is not too late to work with him and teach him to get past that, but we are not sure what we can do.
