I don't post here as often as I should...but I wanted to add a point a few others made.

I see both sides of the topic.

When I went searching for a puppy after a tragic family event (I am a huge cat person and have always had cats but for a long long time I had an urge to try out dogs, and I'm SO happy God sent me a Yorkie!).......I was very uneducated, but I found, SO WERE 99% of the breeders I spoke to.

When I did a breed search, I decided for sure I wanted a Bichon. I started dealing with some very questionable breeders and I knew little to nothing about any breed of dog so I took their word for it.

Like another member said, THANK GOD I found Yorkie talk days after I got my Yorkie....and I only happened upon her by accident researching another pup and the breeder had a picture of her that I fell in love with.

I think it is honorable and amazing that great breeders like OP exist. A true love for the breed and for their pups. I didn't come across many of these in my search and I'm a little OCD about thingss, so I did do my research, I was just getting information from all the wrong places. It actually took me a few days of forum searching to find YT and I haven't posted anywhere else since.

I also didn't know the true price of the breed. Everyone had a different answer. My long time vet that I bring my cats to even told me there are different prices depending on if it's a "teacup" or not. (yeah, an old man VET didn't know the teacup myth that I came to learn on here) I would actually try to haggle with breeders because I was told this is what you do (I got my Poppy at a lower price than she was listed....$300 less, so clearly the breeder I went through wasn't as great as she seemed at the time, as it was CLEAR I knew absolutely ZERO about Yorkies when she sent Poppy off with me)

Reputable breeders are really harder to find than most of you think, being in the breeding community. For first time Yorkie owners, it's a huge trial finding the dog then learning everything about the dog. You expect the breeder to help you along with any questions but even questions I had asked the breeder, I came to find out were not true on here.

I am blessed that I got a happy, VERY healthy little puppy who has lightened up my life.....but it could have gone very different for me being a first time buyer.

I commend the breeder for being so on top of her game, but also think that maybe you WONDERFUL BREEDERS should just take a deep breath and try to understand a little that sometimes, although it may seem like someone is trying to get a dog to treat as a handbag or new pair of shoes, they may have different reasons and just not understand everything there is to know. (and we all know, there is A LOT to know)

I would also recommend guiding anyone who is professing they're buying a Yorkie to this site, I really REALLY wish I had found it prior to getting my dog.
