Actually this should have been discussed with the stud owner and put into the breeding contract before the breeding. If the pups are being evaluated for show then I would not expect the stud owner to pick until the pups are about 12 weeks. Sometimes it is easier to decide sooner, it always depends on what sex the stud owner wants and how many there are to choose from. With a larger litter it can be harder to choose.
