Since then all are great and growing they are all in between 2.9 and 3.5lbs now, but they look very small, its amazing how small they look. Everyone went to vet today for first shots and work up. I have been wee-wee training since they were 3 weeks old and they do great very few accidents and when it happens they are so close. It really is only the boy who will be the farthest away. I have decided to keep my Izzy (Izza Boo) we have a special bond and I will get my dream one day. I love all my animals no matter what size they are. I think next time I will want to see parents and will not go through what I did with Kalix and just have my dog shipped on a plane, I will be in the picture through everything birth to 12 weeks.
The doctor said that my 2 of my pups may be smaller than mom and dad, but truly only time will tell so I will take that chance as I have 2 great dogs and if she gets to be 11-12lbs so be it she is gorgeous and will have a great home and that is all that truly matters. He also said it really is depends on the size of the head and not the weight of the dog. He said the rut of the litter could turn out to be the biggest. Maybe when the time is right someone can give me a good reparable breeder so I can have my little yorkie I have always wanted. Thanks again. |
Head size is a predictor, but unless they have heads way out of proportion to their overall size and weight, I think weight will do it too. Like I said, it is pretty much a guesstimate, but all of mine have been right on that Yorkie Growth Chart -- others have posted exceptions though. I think it is pretty safe to say that all of yours are off the charts and will be over 8 pounds at the least. A simple guesstimate is to triple the 8 week weight and/or double the 12 week weight. So, you will know a little more in 2 weeks. Compare those two estimates (double the 8 week and use the chart) and the adult weight will probably be in the ballpark.
Glad you have all the right feelings about her being gorgeous and loving them regardless of size. That is what being a good pet owner is about.

I wonder things about mine, when they are going to change color, will they make it to the best dark steel blue, etc... but I will love them no matter what too. Hoping for standard is not wrong as long as we love them regardless. And how could we not?
