Default Do dogs cry?

Hey everyone -- i feel bad posting this because it is not about my yorkie, but my hairless chinese crested. And i thought i would post it because as well as yorkie lovers, we are all ANIMAL lovers here (at least dog lovers)

My Rooney has been crying lately. I can lay next to him and HEAR the tears squish as he blinks. He does not have any infection and i've checked for a foreign object or hair, but there is nothing in his eyes.

This has been going on for a couple of days (at least, i've noticed it in the past few days). Do you guys think he could be experiencing sadness? Or just being Mucous-y? We are, after all, just animals too, and we cry. I have heard that pugs cry.

I pick him up and give him lots of kisses and it seems to help. My only thought is that he is lonely or bored?? Any comments?? Have your furbabies cried before?
