I agree that if you're not comfortable with your current vet, I would look for a new one. I watied til Lulu was about 8 months old before spaying her. One reason was her small size (just over 3 lbs) & the other reason was to give her baby teeth time to fall out on their own. I wanted her spayed prior to her first heat due to the health benefits but I wanted to wait until she was 7-8 months. All went well & she had no baby teeth retained.
