I've had a Bissel Pro heat and an older Hoover. I preferred the circular cleaning bristles on the Hoover, they just seemed to do a better job than the rotary type brush on the tougher stains. That being said, the heater on the Bissel seemed to do a better overall job.

I just bought a new Bissel Pro Heat for my mom at BJ's. She's pleased with it.

If Hoover would come out with a heated version or Bissel would change brush styles, then they would have the perfect machine, IMO.
