I think I would let your older dog hide if he wants to. Don't force him to come out and play with the new puppy. However, if he choose to play with the puppy, you should praise him.
When I brought home a puppy it took my male yorkie 3 months before he would ever approach the puppy and 1 year before he was comfortable enough to play with her. Hang-in there! |
