She doesn't mind it. I also don't do it too tight because I don't want to hurt her. It's just that my bf KEEPS exclaiming that her eyes are bigger when I put tie her hair up and that's because I'm pulling the hair. He's ridiculous!!

Take your puppy to a professional groomer, and let your BF see the difference between "chopping" up your puppy's coat, compared to a professional groomers work.
My DH has never even thought to trim either of our girls, and they are both in full coat.

I do show pictures of show dogs to him and he despise it. He thinks it's wrong to show dogs because they are animals, not things. He has his weird philosophies. I will probably start hiding the scissors though! Great idea! haha
