Your bf is being silly. As long as the scrunchy is not to tight it will not hurt her. If her topknot is long then it needs to be kept up out of her eyes or cut off. If she continually gets hair in her eyes it can cause her eyes to water. Some yorkies just like topknots and will try to rub them out causing the hair to break.
