You should be able to read the overall protein on the side of the package. I'm not sure what you mean by rest of the meat, if this is the first ingredient it will probably have a very high overall protein content. I'm with you, I like it when they say exactly what the ingrediant is, and if a dog is allergic to chicken, this would not be a good choice.
