I am glad you are taking him in. Taycie has had 2 boughts of pink eye and doesn't get better without a prescription. I am like everyone else.. eyes I don't mess around with. They also may put a stain in the eye to see if there could be a scratch or an ulcer. Once you have meds... It clears up rather quickly! Good luck
