Hmmmm...this is a tough one....

I *think* I'd choose the Kodak mainly bc of the 8xZoom and the familiarity of the interface w/ what you already have. Is the freezing thing more like an anomaly rather than something that is common? All models will have some that fail...so that's sort of inevitable. But if you get a fluke, you should be able to return it.

But I dunno...if the waterproof thing is super important, then I'd scratch the Kodak right off.

What about video? Many of these little cameras have great video, would you want that?

I have DSLR...but I also have a little pocket camera, and it's great for certain things, and takes video too. It's a Panasonic Lumix, and has a Leica lens in it, which really helps with quality . It was maybe $120ish?
