Always walk a Yorkie using a harness. Collars are fine for ID tags only (look into breakaway collars that come off when pressure is applied), but if a collar were to be used for walking on a leash, it would apply too much pressure to your baby's neck. Yorkies are prone to collapsing tracheas. Also, remember not to take your puppy out on walks or to pet stores until AFTER her last set of vaccinations.
Levi only wears a collar if we are going to the vet, pet store, dog park, etc. His collar has an ID tag and his rabies tag. He is always walked on a leash attached to his harness.
