Well in a perfect world for me, potential buyers would come to live in my home for 3-4 days, where I could over time show them a whole lot in terms of grooming, training, showing how the adult dog looks and behaves, and answering the myriad of questions they would have.
Then I could return with them to their home, and help them set up for their pup, look at "risks" to the pup, help them on their first potty training in their own home, and so much more. I could help them shop for what they need to groom, wash, train, etc the pup. I could also help supervise their first bath with their pup and first nail trim and ear clean.
Despite my breeder knowing me for some years, and training(me) with our BRT;s, she took me shopping for Razz, I went over to her place to learn how to bathe and trim Razz up. Er um, cause he was so small, I had to have a couple of lessons there

But still even today I ask her to "tip" his ears, I'm still not easy with that. Oh and before Razz came home, she went through my home (which she had been to before) to check to see if I had prepared enough for my pup. I had mostly done fine. I had to get a couple of more dog gates as my house is a whole lot of stairs, and that concerned her. She asked about sleeping arrangements and I showed his crate in our bedroom, the other crate in our garden room, and I explained when and how I would use them.
Now I know not everyone can do that. We are pretty close to each other geographically. But for me a new owner it was wonderful to have her so close and so involved.
