I forgot to mention that Jack had a slight fever @ 102.4 so it was slightly over the normal body temperature for dogs which is 101 I think, this is why I believe his antibiotics was prescribed (Baytril). I called the vet today and spoke to the vet's son who is also a vet. He explained every aspect of both drugs which I appreciated. Because Prednisone is an anit-inflammatory it should help in putting Jack's allergies at ease (that is if he has allergies). I will be taking Jack for a check up in the coming weeks to see if there has been any improvement. You mentioned that Zada wheezes when she gets really excited. Jack is the same way, I'll put him on a harness and go for a walk and the wheezing/hacking begins! Like you said it happens when he gets too excited or when someone comes to visit but normally stops after 3 min of greeting the person. Thank you both for sharing :-)
