No, I would not expect a health guarantee from a dog being given away. Definitely take the dog to the vet as soon as possible, even having an appointment on the way before going to your home is recommended. I wish you and the little yorkie well -- you could be saving this little one's life and in return I'll bet there is a lot of love waiting for you & your daughter!
