Default How to remove a tick/lyme disease info?

Jackson has a small tick right UNDER his arm... like in his armpit. The worst place possible. I thought these little suckers were gone by now, but I guess I have to start up the K9 Advantix or Frontline again.

My step-dad was home when I noticed so of course I ask him for help, I *hate* ticks. He removes most of it with tweezers (the body, etc) but the head is definitely still in there... he had to leave for work, and now I don't know what to do, LOL. I can't get the head out and I don't wanna make it worse. It's already looking kind of sore and red.

Last time he had a tick, I just took him into the vet... but I'd prefer not to stress him out again if not needed and save the $15 they charged me.

He already had Lymes disease though so I guess I need to be precautious. My question is -- since he already tested positive for Lymes last year, and was treated with antibiotics, would he test positive again if I gave him a test? I've heard the test will always come back positive... I'm still not quite sure I understand how lymes works.

Anyways... help! lol. Should I just take him to the vet? I guess I could make the 35 minute drive to the clinic where he got neutered and gets his rabies shots, etc, rather than the freakin' expensive place 5 mins. from my house. Then I could get the lymes test, maybe heartworm test while I'm there, and purchase flea/tick stuff at a good price...
